Telecom Egypt expands Egypt's eastern digital corridor with a new Sharm El Sheikh–Taba subsea cable
The new repeaterless, high-fibre-count cable is designed for about five petabits per second and is expected to be ready for service in the fourth quarter of 2027. It will extend the Red Sea Subsea Festoon Cable System to Taba, creating a continuous path linking Suez, Zafarana, Ras Ghareb, Sharm El Sheikh and Taba.
