Vodafone Egypt posts sharp 2025 revenue growth as pricing catches up with inflation
Group disclosures for the 2025 financial year showed Egyptian revenue up about 46 per cent in local-currency terms, a figure that says as much about repricing as about demand.
Vodafone Egypt recorded local-currency revenue growth of about 46 per cent for the 2025 financial year, according to group-level disclosures reported at the end of January 2026.
Growth of that magnitude in a mature mobile market is rarely a demand story. In Egypt, tariff repricing through 2024 and 2025 followed a period of high inflation and currency movement, and headline revenue in Egyptian pounds reflects that repricing before it reflects any change in usage.
Reading local-currency growth
Two adjustments matter. The first is inflation: nominal revenue growth well below the general price level can still represent a real-terms decline. The second is translation: revenue converted into a reporting currency can fall even as local-currency revenue rises sharply.

Why it matters for networks
Revenue growth is the precondition for capital expenditure. Operators that committed to Egypt's February 2026 spectrum programme — reported in our coverage of the market's largest frequency deal — have to fund both the spectrum payments and the radio and fibre work that turns spectrum into service.
What to watch
The informative follow-on figures are average revenue per user in real terms, data traffic per subscriber, and capital expenditure as a share of revenue. Those three together indicate whether reported growth is being reinvested in the network.
