Editorial Policy

Purpose

Cairo Stream aims to provide independent reporting and analysis about Egypt's telecom and technology ecosystem for an English-reading audience, in plain and accurate language.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made by the newsroom. No advertiser, operator, vendor, investor or institution has any influence over what we cover or how we cover it. Any commercial relationship that could be perceived as a conflict of interest will be disclosed in the relevant article.

Sourcing and attribution

• Factual claims are attributed to a named source and, where available, linked.
• We prioritise primary sources such as regulator and ministry publications, operator announcements, filings and official reports.
• We do not invent quotes, statistics, sources or documents.
• We do not publish press releases as if they were independent reporting.

Why it matters

Some articles carry an optional “Why it matters” section explaining, in simple language, the significance of a development. It is clearly labelled and is used only where it adds genuine explanatory value.

AI use

Cairo Stream does not publish AI-generated articles as journalism. Any editorial use of automated tools remains under human review and responsibility.

Updates

Developing stories may be updated. Substantive updates carry an updated timestamp; factual errors are handled under our corrections policy.
