Who owns and runs Cairo Stream, how it is funded, and the independence rules that separate its journalism from commercial interests.

Ownership

Cairo Stream is an independent English-language publication covering Egypt's telecom, connectivity, AI and technology sectors. It is independently owned and editorially self-governing. It is not owned by, affiliated with, operated by or sponsored by any telecom operator, equipment vendor, service provider, government body or political organisation.

No outside party holds a stake that carries editorial rights. No advertiser, sponsor, commercial partner or source has any say over what Cairo Stream publishes, when it publishes, or how a story is framed.

Who is responsible

Editorial responsibility for everything Cairo Stream publishes rests with the named editorial team:

Final responsibility for editorial standards, sourcing and corrections rests with the Editor-in-Chief.

How Cairo Stream is funded

Cairo Stream is funded by its owner and by advertising placed on the site. It does not run paid articles, sponsored posts presented as reporting, affiliate links inside articles, or paid inclusion of any company in a story. Coverage cannot be bought.

Where a commercial relationship exists with a company that appears in an article, that relationship is disclosed in the article itself. Advertising terms and the separation between advertising and journalism are set out in the advertising policy.

Independence rules

  • Advertisers see no article before publication and receive no advance notice of coverage.
  • Advertising is never a condition of coverage, and coverage is never a condition of advertising.
  • Advertising placements are visually distinct and labelled as advertising.
  • No member of the editorial team accepts payment, equity, gifts or travel from a company they cover.
  • Corrections are made on the merits of the facts, never because of commercial pressure. See the corrections policy.
